We’re Empowering Researchers to Explore the Future of Haptics

Haptics is a fascinating new field which is not only of interest to consumers and electronics companies. We have been working closely with research institutes and universities to provide them with the technology they need to explore this new frontier. Since May this year we have expanded our Academic programme and pricing to better accommodate the needs of those working at the bleeding edge of haptic research. From Stanford to Oxford, our tech is being used in ways we couldn’t have imagined. As this is a new area of the business, we wanted to take some time to explain the options open to researchers and the possibilities that lie ahead.

Getting started

Getting started with Lofelt’s technology couldn’t be easier and there are two options depending on what you would like to achieve:

  1. By far the quickest and easiest way to start testing our technology is by buying the Basslet and hacking the tech directly. There are several researchers who have taken this approach and we’re also happy to support qualifying projects with a student research discount. Just drop us a line with a short summary of your idea, and we’ll take it from there.
  2. If you’d like to take your research to the next level, we also offer the Lofelt engine directly to you as part of our formal academic program. Combined with our evaluation kit, you can build your own prototypes or proof of concepts using the most advanced haptic technology on the market.

What’s next?

This is just the beginning of our academic programme as we plan to expand our offering even further in 2018 and beyond. One of the big areas we would like to develop is with regard to knowledge sharing: we want to make it easier to find and share information relating to the use of our tech, whether that be from our engineers or your peers. So look out for more information in the coming months.

Are you interested in finding out about how you too can start using our tech in your research? Simply drop us a line through the contact form here to chat with us about your project.
